February 22, 2010 - What A Day!

Does it look like mom is having fun? This was at 11PM after 28 hours of labor just after the decision for a C-section was made and she was chock full of drugs (and really happy the camera was brought out).Dad is all scrubbed-in and ready to get this kid out!

Dad's view during surgery - kinda scary but she was in great hands.
After she came out they took her over to this table to suction her throat and lungs since there was miconium all over. 30 seconds seemed like 30 hours until we heard the first cries and then all seemed right with the world. Dad planned to cut the cord but obviously having a C-section got in the way of that plan. Small tradeoff to get the outcome we got!

Tom Petty had it right - waiting certainly is the hardest part. Today
is t-minus 1 week till the official due date but who knows when this
little hoot is gonna join us?

Are You On the Bus?

I took a ride on this bus today - pretty much good feelings were
occurring inside! Moments later I rode shotgun in our fuel cell
vehicle while someone drove it for the first time and got to see their
excitement - after 6 years my job never gets old...
