All Moved In

Finally, we are all moved in! No more dual residency anymore, just a long-ass commute everyday.

Grillin' & Chillin'

There will be plenty of that going on from here on out. We finally got a grill! Big shoutout (thanks) to those who helped us in the endeavor.

Floors are Stained!?!?!?

Soooooo, the floors are stained. We envisioned a very rustic-looking floor, which would have a lot of character and look as if they were from a 1800's farmhouse and not a 1960's raised ranch. We succeeded in making them look nice and "________________." I am not sure what to put in the blank. We used Minwax "English Chestnut" as the stain color. It took about 6 hours to apply the first coat. After it was done, it became apparent that all those "shadows" at the edges of many of the boards and any scratches (no matter how small) were showing right through the dark stain. Hoping that the floor would look rustic was a bit optimistic, but maybe we are being harsh on ourselves??? We are having trouble deciding how we feel about them. Either way we will be living with them. As much as they were a shock at first glance, they are looking better each time we look at them. You be the judge:
